TORILES, OUR MONTHLY NEWS LETTER Membership in CTCV includes a subscription to Toriles which provides information on coming club activities as well as taurine-related items from around the world. Our editor, Sally McKenney, is always looking for interesting articles (short ones!). Please send her a copy of your article for possible inclusion in a future edition: TORILES EDITOR This is the cover page to the October 2001 issue. The art work was provided by club vice president, Mario Ferrucci. Our Octobert calendar had some exciting news/rumors about coming appearances in Tijuana of El Juli and rejoneador Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza. Unfortunately, all Tijuana bull fights for the rest of the season have been canceled, apparently related to border crossing difficulties associated with the September 11 tragedies.
Here are a few titles of articles that were featured in the October 2001 Toriles: Review of the August 12 9th corrida of the 2001 temporada at Tujuana Plaza Monumental. Matadors were Mariano Ramos, Enrique Garza and Paco Gonzales facing a herd of very large bulls from Don Jose Julian Llaguno. Review of the September 2 corrida at Plaza Monumental. Matadors were Rafael Rodrigues (El Pana), Victor Santos and Tijuana/Chula Vista native, Caesar Castaneda facing bulls from Arroyo Hondo. This was the corrida attended by many CTCV members and friends following our "paella party" at the club house (see the events page).
